Bluetooth embedded control interface (BECI)
Bluetooth Embedded Control Interface (BECI) is a standardized application interface that lies between the Bluetooth protocol stack and the application.
Applications have standardized access to the protocol stack via the Bluetooth Embedded Control Interface. BECI provides a standardized access interface to the Bluetooth profiles. Whereas the HCI interface, HostController Interface (HCI), only covers the lower Bluetooth layers.
BECI is located above the Bluetooth profiles in the Bluetooth protocol stack and can be integrated into specific end devices, such as those used in medical technology and industrial applications. With the uniform BECI interface, the integration of Bluetooth in embedded systems is significantly simplified.
