BlackBerry 10 is the smartphone operating system from Research in Motion( RIM) introduced in 2013. One of the most important innovations of the BlackBerry 10 operating system is the strict separation of work and private life.

This is intended to counteract the need of many users for separate smartphones for private and professional applications, as both areas are integrated into a single smartphone. The strict separation allows the company's system administrator to access emails and data relevant to the employer and implement strict company-specific security policies. In addition, users can use the private area for their personal e-mails, download apps and surf the Internet.

In addition to these functions, the BlackBerry Hub is of particular interest. It serves as a communication hub and manages incoming messages. These can be emails, messages from the short message service( SMS), Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Foursquare, which are supported by special messenger functions. Other interesting features are the semi-intelligent keyboard and intelligent text recognition. The adaptive keyboard monitors the position of the finger pressure on the keys and corrects the position input. As for the intelligent text recognition, it can automatically make corrections to the implemented speech recognition. In addition, the operating system supports input on touchscreens and keyboards.

With the introduction of BlackBerry 10, the BlackBerry App World offering, which will be renamed BlackBerry World, will also be revamped. Besides many new apps, BlackBerry World also offers music and movie downloads for purchase and rent.
