Berkeley Internet name domain (Internet) (BIND)

Berkeley InternetName Domain (BIND) is an implementation of the DNS system provided by the University of California, Berkeley, as FreeBSD.

BIND is the most widely used DNS software on the Internet, and is shown to be a stable platform on which companies and organizations can build their distributed naming system. The BIND implementation fully complies with Domain Name System (DNS) standards.

BIND is available as open source that can be used to build reliable DNS systems. It is subject to licensing under the Berkeley Software Distribution( BSD). BIND is already available in the 9th version. The function of BIND corresponds to that of DNS systems with the conversion of IP addresses in Dotted Decimal Notation into domain names and vice versa.
