AppleTalk remote access protocol (ARAP)

The AppleTalk Remote Access Protocol (ARAP) supports remote access to remote Apple networks.

ARAP was introduced in 1991 in conjunction with Apple Remote Access. Like the other AppleTalk protocols, ARAP is an open protocol whose specifications are made available to developers.

The ARAP protocol is a link- layer protocol whose performance and flexibility have been constantly improved in the various versions.
