AppleTalk address resolution protocol (AARP)

The AppleTalk Address Resolution Protocol (AARP) is a protocol in the AppleTalk stack that dynamically maps data link layer addresses to higher layers.

AARP uses the physical Ethernet or Token Ring address, i.e. the MAC address, to map the node ID. The AARP table is part of the AppleTalk MIB and allows you to manage the address mapping table. In the TCP/IP world, Apple's AARP protocol is functionally equivalent to the ARP protocol.
