AppleTalk address resolution protocol (AARP)

The AppleTalk Address Resolution Protocol (AARP) is a protocol in the AppleTalk stack that dynamically maps link layeraddresses to higher layers.

AARP uses the physical Ethernet or Token Ring address, i.e. the MAC address, to map the node ID. The AARP table is part of the AppleTalk MIB and allows the address mapping table to be managed. In the TCP/ IP world, Apple's AARP protocol is functionally equivalent to the ARP protocol.
