A band

The designation A-band originates from the newer European nomenclature, the frequency bands defined by NATO.

There is no A-band in the older German nomenclature of the ITU. In terms of frequency, the A band covers the HF range traditionally used for radio and television and large parts of the VHF range above it.

The frequency range of the A-band extends from 100 MHz to 250 MHz, covering wavelengths from 3 m to 1.2 m. The frequency band above this is the B-band.
