80186

The Intel processor 80186, introduced in 1982, was a 16-bit processor with an addressing range of 1 MB. The clock frequencies were 6.144 MHz and 8 MHz.

The 80186 had some peripheral components integrated on the chip. So an interrupt controller and the DMA controller. Both were still on the 8086 as separate components on the motherboard.

The variant of the 80186, the 80188, is conceptually comparable with the 8088, since it works with an 8-bit data bus like the latter.
