The designation 733 format is an earlier designation for the standard format for electronic mails in the TCP/ IP environment. The standard used today is the 822 format.

The designation 733 format can be traced back to the TCP/IP standard document RFC 733 with the title: Standard for the Format of ARPA Network Text Messages, and documents the header for the e-mails.
