1 out of n code
The 1-out-of-n code is a higher- order code, i.e. a code that has more than four digits. The 1-out-of-n code can be a 1-out-of-10 code or another code with one set bit.
The 1-out-of-10 code consists of ten binary digits, one of which corresponds to a "1", the remaining nine are "0". Due to the length of the code word, the coded word lengths are also extremely extensive.
In higher-order codes such as the 1-out-of-10 code, errors can be detected more easily, since in the case of this code the cross sum is always one. In the 1-out-of-10 code, the respective ones bit shifts with increasing decimal number in the ten- digit data word from the Least Significant Bit( LSB) for the decimal value 0: 00000001, to the Most Significant Bit( MSB) for the digit 9: 1000000000.
