SGMP-Protokoll

Das Simple Gateway Monitoring Protocol (SGMP) ist ein vereinfachtes Vorgängerprotokoll vom Simple Network Management Protocol ( SNMP).

Das SGMP- Protokoll ermöglichte die schnelle Entwicklung von Management Tools und bot bereits 1988 entsprechende Prototypen. Wegen der Einfachheit und der Flexibilität wurde das SGMP-Protokoll für die ersten Vorschläge vom Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) benutzt.

Das Simple Gateway Monitoring Protocol (SGMP) wurde von der Internet Engineering Task Force ( IETF) spezifiziert und ist im RFC 1028 beschrieben.
