L2CAP-Protokoll

Das Logical Link Control and Adaptation Protocol (L2CAP) ist ein Bluetooth-Kernprotokoll, das das in Bluetooth das Multiplexing und die Segmentation and Reassembly-Funktionen ( SAR) übernimmt.

Das L2CAP- Protokoll verbindet die höheren Schichten des Bluetooth-Protokollstacks mit dem Link Manager Protocol ( LMP) und parallel dazu mit dem Basisband-Protokoll. Das L2CAP-Protokoll kann über RF Communication ( RFCOMM) und die darüber liegenden Transportprotokolle verbindungslose und verbindungsorientierte Dienste anbieten und bildet das Kernprotokoll für die Bluetooth-Profile.

Bei der L2CAP- Schicht geht es nur um Datenpaketübertragung, nicht um Sprachdaten. In L2CAP können Dienstgüten ( QoS) spezifiziert werden, und zwar betreffend den Datenfluss nach RFC 1363, dessen Verzögerung und Verzerrungen.
