VCI (virtual channel identifier)
The virtual channel identifier (VCI) field is an ID number for the logical connection, the virtual channel (VC), in ATM and DQDB.

This is a 16 bit data field in the ATM cell. In the DQDB header, the VCI data field occupies 20 bits.
