access link control application part (UMTS) (ALCAP)

Access Link Control Application Part (ALCAP) ist ein Protokoll auf der Transportschicht von UMTS.

Das ALCAP-Protokoll reagiert auf die Anforderungen der Funknetzschicht zur Einrichtung, Pflege und Freigabe von permanenten virtuellen Verbindungen ( PVC) über ATM. Das ALCAP-Protokoll kommuniziert wie das Node B Adaption Protocol ( NBAP) ausschließlich zwischen der Basisstation und dem Radio Network Controller ( RNC) während des Verbindungsaufbaus.
