standards promotion and application group (SPAG)

In der Standards Promotion and Application Group (SPAG) sind zwölf europäische Hersteller organisiert. Die SPAG-Gruppe wurde 1984 auf Initiative der Kommission der Europäischen Gemeinschaften gegründet. Seit 1986 existiert SPAG als eigenständiges Unternehmen (SPAG Services) mit den Mitgliedsfirmen als Teilhabern. SPAG ist der europäische Vertreter von Corporation for Open Systems ( COS).

SPAG ist tätig auf folgenden Gebieten:

Dienstleistungen (für SPAG-Mitglieder und andere) auf dem Gebiet Interoperabilitätstest.

Entwicklung von Protokollprofilen. Diese Profile werden im »Guide to the Use of Standards« ( GUS) veröffentlicht. Die SPAG-Profile beeinflussen sehr stark die europäische Standardisierung, die von den europäischen Normungsgremien Comité Européen de Normalisation ( CEN), Comité Europeen de Normalisation ( CENELEC) und Conférence Européenne des Administration des Postes ( CEPT) durchgeführt wird.
